So far I have been placed with a host family, have e-mailed with them and have gone to the French Consulate of Boston to apply for my Visa.
My host family: I'll be staying with a family of four in Leogeats, a small village of 600, close to Bordeaux and "in the middle of wine country" according to my dad. My host father, Frederic, works in Paris a few days a week. Pascale, my host mom, is involved in the local government; she serves on the "Conseiller municipal" which is the equivalent of a town council. As for siblings, I will have two 11 year old twin brothers who are in 6eme or 6th grade. I find this funny because 1. my real little brother is that age and 2. I was in 6eme when I lived in France! I guess this as best a time as any to explain my previous time in France. My dad teaches French and he got to go to France for one year. My sister, brother and I were enrolled in French school. Having never taken a French course prior to this, I learned to speak French there. I loved it sooooo much and really wanted to go back, so I decided to go as an exchange student! Okay, enough about past adventures, more about my host family! From the file, it seems like we have a lot in common, the whole family likes running and similar stuff as me! Plus, they have a pool and a house that looks awesome.

Visa: Recently, I went up to the French Consulate to apply for my visa. There were so many papers to fill out and I really hope I had them all. At the Consulate, I got to speak a little French and my dad talked to the people he knew there. The lady there was really nice and said that it would take about 10 days to process the visa, so I should be getting it soon.
